The animated city on the river, for children ages 2 and up

With this enchanting app, children discover active life in RioMio, the city on the river. The large image with its three sections is teeming with numerous lovingly produced city scenes, people and objects, which are brought to life when touched.

The app contains 55 professionally illustrated and animated scenes with over 200 individual animations. These show various activities and events within the urban world and teach children how things are interconnected. Every one of the little cartoons is individually set to sound.
The scenes also include subterranean systems such as an underground station, a wastewater treatment plant and the underwater world of the river. This makes the discovery particularly interesting for children.
In each section the user can zoom into an enlarged detail, that shows the interior of a shop, a nursery and a cruise ship, as if peeking inside a dolls house. When touched, the characters come to life and perform funny actions and noises.

Teeming with fun!

This app develops young childrens observation skills and teaches logical comprehension of interconnections.
Its intuitive operation makes the app suitable for children from 2 years.

Bad Design
In one part of the app, a little kid gets run down by a car?? What kind of app design is that. Poor thinking on designers.
Nice little App
this is really a cute app for my toddlers! They love the funny animations. Well done!
The only way I can justify RioMio
Okay, so its REALLY irritating that you cant find out more about these apps before you spend your $$$ on them! I had no way of understanding what this app was about until I purchased it, and its pricey for what you get, compared to the other interactive, fantastic games out there that are educational for children. Im an educator and buy apps for my classroom. I thought this looked like fun for a unit on social studies about communities and workers......there isnt much interactive for the children to do or learn, they just touch the screen to watch the animations. Many of the animations are inappropriate for children, in terms of what would be a healthy community, I mean, really? So, this app MUST be about what NOT to do in a healthy, happy community. The task for my students then, was, HOW MANY THINGS ARE THERE IN THIS PICTURE THAT ARE WRONG? Then it makes it a bit more fun and you could talk about what to do that is right, but if I had known, I wouldnt have wasted my money.
Unimpressed.
Does not live up to its screen shot promises. Scale of screen shots is deceptive.
